1. That babies start developing laughter only around 3-4months. No wonder they’re always crying before that - they don’t know any better :’)

  3. Concrete traps heat during the day and releases the trapped heat at night, which is why cities with buildings are generally much warmer at night than rural areas / open lands etc.
  4. That the 7-8% GDP growth of India has been on a scale that IMF graded badly - which means our scale itself has been fundamentally broken & that GDP & other economic measures are inaccurate

    3. Also that GDP is not even the right metric to look when measuring economic growth - a few hundred billionaires can easily heavy lift the GDP. I remember thinking so when “GDP” term and it’s calculation was being taught to us for the first time in 9th standard in school. I remember asking my Economics teacher why our economists never came up with a better measure - GDP seemed too vague. She sadly said that “that’s what the WEF, IMF & other countries measure their growth on” which wasn’t really the answer to what I asked, and I remember feeling confused. Good times.
  5. That sugar is going to get “even” more expensive because we exported most of it after a wrong forecast! And the festive season has only just begun so would be interesting to see sweets prices in the market.
